Evaluation – Induction video task (The Scam Part 1)

Evaluation – Induction video task (The Scam Part 1)
This is my first filming task with a group of 3, including myself. The video starts off with a pan across and then a moving forward handheld view establishing shots that set the film off. I think they link in well as it both shots where in the same place at the same time making the continuity in both establishing shots. However I feel like this shots go on for a little bit too long in this film and it needed to move along a bit quicker. The scene cuts to a close up shot of a phone in the same location, this remains continuity as it keeps the film in the same place of where it has just established. It then cuts an extreme close up the same phone, this time you can see what is happening, by using the same lighting and the same phone makes it seems like a clean cut from one scene to another, it makes it seem like it is the same thing that had been shown seconds before. The scene moves on by showing text been wrote saying where’s the package, it then cuts to an over the shoulder shot and then a person walking down and dropping off a package. This is good continuity as it shows what the package and who the person was who go the text by showing that person after the text message scene. It also makes it seem like the person is looking for the person who wants the package by having an over the shoulder and seems like the person with the package is looking for someone. To make it better, having an eye line match of the person with the package would have helped continuity. It then fades to black to represent that time has moved on, this would have been better if the next scene was shot at a different time and improved the continuity of this film.  The scene starts off showing a close up of the package in the same place and is the same package, once again this is good for continuity as it makes the package the same one in each shot. It ends with the guy on the phone picking up the package and walking off. The person that was on the phone wearing the same clothes makes it so then the audience knows that this is this same person from before. It then cuts to close up of the tag on the package that is the same one as the ones in previous scenes.

Still working on it.
